Al Masaood Automobiles’ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Irfan Tansel was recently recognised as one of Forbes’ Top CEOs in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region this year. Tansel was selected for his superior leadership and sharp business acumen, amongst other attributes.

Al Masaood Automobiles has been making history with Tansel at its helm. Under his direction, the company executed re-strategising efforts in 2019 and 2020 to deliver an omnichannel experience for its customers, as well as lay the groundwork for the company’s transition to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

It was in 2019 that the company unveiled the region’s first e-commerce platform for Nissan, in addition to offering a virtual, live and interactive sales portal. During this period, considered a record-breaking year for the company, Al Masaood Automobiles sold cars more than ever before.

Furthermore, Tansel initiated ‘Project Falcon’ to empower his team to achieve innovative solutions, excellent customer satisfaction and increased market share in Abu Dhabi and the Western region. In 2020, the company’s market share grew by 30 per cent, outselling its direct competitors by the number of vehicles sold. He has transformed Al Masaood Automobiles by creating new sources of revenue and implementing cost-efficiency techniques.

It is the first time for Al Masaood to become part of the Forbes’ elite list of top CEOs in the region. The 2021 list features CEOs from influential entities such as Saudi Aramco, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Emirates Airlines, Etihad Airlines, and First Abu Dhabi Bank.

Forbes’ annual list accredits CEOs who have outperformed themselves and strengthened their company’s position through excellent performance. The ranking is based on the company’s size in terms of revenues, assets, employees and, most importantly, the impact the CEO had on its success.
