Al Masaood named gold partner of Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2019

Al Masaood has been announced as the gold partner of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2019 for the 4th successive year as sponsor of the sporting spectacle. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the 11th annual edition of the Championships return to the UAE capital from 20-26 April; taking place at the Mubadala Arena, Zayed Sports City.

The partnership reaffirms Al Masaood’s commitment to support the UAE Vision 2021 and reflects the Group’s corporate social responsibility pledge to facilitate Abu Dhabi’s long-term vision to promote youth and sports and become international capital for sport practicing, competitiveness and events. Organized by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, the series enters its second decade with elite multi-gender athletes from more than 100 countries competing across various categories for a collective prize pool of AED 2 million. For the third consecutive year, people of determination (PWDs) will also be part of the Championships, which proves to be both timely and strategic as it falls in line with 2019 being named as the ‘Year of Tolerance.’

Open to all nationalities and age groups, the full event program includes the Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Festival and Para Jiu-Jitsu on 20 April, the Abu Dhabi World Youth Championship on 21-22 April, the Abu Dhabi World Masters Jiu-Jitsu Championship on 23 April, and a blue-black belt professional series from 24-26 April.

In line with their corporate social responsibility, Al Masaood has also proudly sponsored the Athletic Talent Fund, Juventus Football Academy, Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Open, Gary Player Invitational and the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA. Most recently, the company was a gold sponsor and exclusive automotive partner of the 2019 Special Olympics World Games, the world’s biggest humanitarian sporting event that was hosted for the first time in the Middle East from 14-21 March 2019.
