Irfan Tansel, CEO, Al Masaood Automobiles, said: “Increasing global interest in electrified mobility is a powerful force behind some of the great innovations in the automotive industry today. Over the years, industry auto-giants have been paving a path to offer zero-emission mobility solutions for a more sustainable future for all.

Nissan is one such renowned international brand that is leading the way towards an electrified future. This is evident in its newly unveiled portfolio of electrified automotive models. The innovative line-up of electric vehicles (EVs) promises to accelerate green mobility worldwide in preparation to fulfill its pledge of zero-emission by 2050. As the exclusive distributor of Nissan in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region, Al Masaood Automobiles joins Nissan in its overarching sustainability endeavours.

The latest Nissan launch correlates with Al Masaood Automobiles’ various programmes that support the decarbonisation goals of Abu Dhabi and the UAE. Bringing Nissan’s innovative models can particularly help fast-track Abu Dhabi’s electrification efforts and sustainable transport development path. To date, the capital has already built 200 charging units across critical locations to increase EV use and significantly bring down its carbon emissions. It is not far-fetched that EVs will become ubiquitous amidst the emirate’s continuous upgrades of relevant infrastructure.

As the host of the UN Climate Change Conference 2023, the exciting, electrified units are fully aligned with the goals of the UAE National Smart Mobility Strategy and the UAE Net Zero 2050. As the transportation sector is considered the biggest contributor to carbon emissions, EVs will play a pivotal role in the success of the country’s long-term sustainability strategies.

We expect EVs to gain traction in the near future. According to 6Wresearch – a market intelligence and advisory centre, the UAE Electric Vehicle Market size is projected to grow at a CAGR of 24.2% in terms of revenues during 2022-2028. According to another survey conducted last year on EV adoption in the UAE, buying this type of vehicle will be mainly driven by factors such as environmental concern (36%) and value for money (29%). The world is becoming a lot more conscious about its social and environmental responsibilities, making the path towards the electrification of vehicles all the more significant.

As an Emirati company that inclines its vision with Abu Dhabi and the UAE, Al Masaood Automobiles is ready to embrace this game-changing electric revolution in the global automotive community.”
