Al Masaood Automobiles thrusts the spotlight on the new features of the Nissan Patrol 2020

30 October 2019

The Nissan Patrol has developed a revered reputation within the automotive industry over many years; consistently demonstrating its power, reliability and versatility to become universally recognized as the superior local, regional and international off-road SUV.

Following its successful global launch in Abu Dhabi last month, the Nissan Patrol 2020 is now available at all Al Masaood Automobiles showrooms across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region a starting price of AED 199,999.

Irfan Tansel, CEO of Al Masaood Automobiles said: “Nissan Patrol has already proven to be a favourite among off-road enthusiasts and urban drivers alike and, with the release of Nissan Patrol 2020, we are confident as the authorized distributor that the brand’s popularity will increase even further among citizens and residents. The Patrol has a long-standing position in the UAE capital as an inseparable part of the country’s culture and heritage, and the latest model has been designed based on traditions that have been a mainstay of previous models for many years.”

He added: “At Al Masaood Automobiles, we are committed to providing our valued clients and customers with intelligent mobility solutions in line with the latest technological advancements so we can enrich their experience. Our deep expertise in the automotive industry has enabled us to provide the most efficient and effective products and looking ahead to the coming years, we will continue to strive towards a world-class automotive sector while retaining the highest levels of customers satisfaction and adhering to best industry practices.”

The Patrol 2020 combines luxury, power, flexibility, comfort and security; boasting an enhanced look from an internal and external perspective that is more modern and sophisticated. Comprising the latest innovative technologies and luxury, both drivers and passengers will travel with upgraded safety and comfort. Signature design changes for the car include Nissan’s V-motion grille, interpreted in a new way for SUVs, along with the new boomerang-shaped LED headlight and redesigned grille highlights to compliment the Patrol’s strong, angular front.

The Nissan Patrol has been in constant production since the 1950s and maintained its reputation for being one of the most durable, reliable and capable off-road cars in the market throughout that time. Customers have remained extremely loyal to the car, often handing it down through the generations as and when a new model is purchased. This release builds on the illustrious heritage of its predecessors and the car’s ruggedly stylish appearance and all-conquering performance has unsurprisingly led the model to become an inseparable part of the social and cultural fabric of the region.

Exterior Looks

The Patrol’s look has a new attitude for 2020, diverting from the traditional pure brawn to adopt a more tech-forward approach to the design to achieve sophistication. Extensive front and rear alterations have created a Patrol that is somehow sleek despite its size and the signature design changes for new model include an impressive new interpretation of Nissan’s V-motion grille, which is the foundation for what surrounds it. The angles of each element that comprises the front end play off the V-motion grille in perfect harmony, while boomerang-shaped LED headlights have been interpreted in a new way for SUVs in order to highlight both the strong front graphic and improved technology.

There are also two unique front bumper treatments available. One is an aerodynamic city bumper while the other is a more robust bumper for off-road. The rear of the Patrol has also undergone a complete revamp that seamlessly integrates new boomerang-shaped taillights and a larger chrome nameplate. Like the front, the rear bumper is upright and angular, elevating the refinement of the vehicle’s overall design.

Unmatched Performance

The 2020 Nissan Patrol will retain the most powerful powertrains in the segment, including a four-wheel drive system accompanied with switchable modes and an assortment of advanced tech.

Both the Patrol’s available engines are the best in-class when it comes to power and ensure customers have enough whether on the highway or in the most challenging off-road conditions. The base 4.0-liter V6 produces 275 horsepower and 394 Nm of torque. The V8 engine's direct injection system provides more efficient and effective wide-open throttle performance, as well as improved fuel economy and emissions performance. Additionally, both versions are equipped with advanced 7-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control while a 140-liter fuel tank provides an ample driving range.

Nissan Intelligent Mobility Technology

The Patrol 2020 also stands out for its extensive selection of available advanced safety and security systems, and these exclusive features are part of Nissan Intelligent Mobility platform which delivers a safer, more connected and confident ride. The newly added Intelligent Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection has been designed to bring the Patrol to a full stop if a collision is determined to be imminent, while it can also sense whether the collision would be caused by another vehicle or a pedestrian.

This comes in addition to the standard Intelligent Cruise Control, standard Intelligent Forward Collision Warning system that warns the driver of risks that await beyond the driver's forward field of vision, and the Advanced Radar system that can sense the relative velocity and distance of a vehicle directly ahead and detect vehicles traveling in front of the preceding one.

On the sides, Lane Departure Warning and Intervention systems along with Blind Spot Warning can alert and assist the driver of potential lane drift and detected vehicles approaching in the blind spot area; while Rear Cross Traffic Alert warns when a vehicle is approaching when the car is in reverse leaving a driveway or parking spot. The Patrol also features Backup Collision Intervention which will stop the vehicle if a collision is predicted.

Premium Comfort

The Patrol 2020 enhances an already top-flight cabin in terms of materials, seat comfort and space. New additions to the latest model include diamond stitch quilted leather seats with added padding and increased comfort, while a new GT-R Tan leather is also new and joins the beige and black interior colour schemes, depending on the grade. Meanwhile, the front seats feature climate control with powered lumbar support and both the front and second rows maintain best-in-class standards.

Hand-stitched leather on the steering wheel and centre console with enhanced wood trim adds to the premium feel, and significant enhancements regarding noise and vibration have been made to facilitate a quieter cabin. While interior room remains unchanged overall, the eight-passenger configuration offers maximum comfort for all-three rows. Even the third-row seats slide and recline, allowing all passengers to get to their destination comfortably.
