OTS: 8 Week Gas Turbine Developee Programme Starting September
19th May, 2010
The use of Gas Turbines in the Power Generation, Petrochemical and Pipeline Industries has increased considerably in the last few years. The development, in particular, of Combined Cycle and Combined Heat and Power applications has accelerated the use of Industrial Gas Turbines.
With this in mind Osborne Training Services ("OTS") have specifically developed a comprehensive training programme aimed at new or recent recruits to the Gas Turbine Industry. The aim of the programme is to produce Graduates that have a broad-based understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the Operations and Maintenance of Generator Drive Gas Turbines. OTS believe this programme will produce students with a strong overall understanding of Gas Turbines that will enable them to fault find faster, increasing machine up-time and reducing operational costs.
The UK Training Centre is located within the Osborne Engineering bearing & gas turbine component manufacturing workshop. The training programme will be 50% theory and 50% practical. Practical sessions will allow students to examine components, evaluate their design and witness associated repair techniques. OTS provides fully equipped Simulator/Instrumentation training rooms and they will be used to further enhance student learning. Graduates from this programme will possess a broad based understanding of Gas Turbine Operations and Maintenance. Students will be evaluated after each two-week session to ensure a good level of comprehension. Student reports can be provided as required and a certificate of achievement will be awarded on satisfactory completion.
