Al Masaood Appoints New Chairman

The Al Masaood Group has announced that its long-time Chairman and co-founder of the company HE Abdulla Al Masaood has retired after many years in the role. He has been succeeded with immediate effect by Masaood Ahmed Al Masaood, one of the Groups partners.

Al Masaood is a privately held and highly diversified group of companies comprising activities and expertise in 18 different market segments. It is headquartered in Abu Dhabi and has interests in or through a wide range of wholly owned and partnership-based commercial entities in the UAE and the Middle East.

During his tenure, the outgoing Chairman has led the company through a number of major expansions, as well as highly visible transactions. Under his guidance, Al Masaood Automobiles allocated resources and developed strategies that led to Nissan becoming the dominant mass market automotive brand in Abu Dhabi.

The appointment of the new Chairman forms part of a structural and strategic process on which the company has embarked in the past few months, which will enable a smooth transition to a new operating model. Further announcements will be made in the near future on a new Board and other entities being formed to support the governance and direction of the company.
